What we do

Bookkeeping & back-office services.

A clean monthly foundation, payroll and payments, operations admin, and one-time clean-up projects — built for Canadian small businesses and solopreneurs.

§ 01
What we handle

Bookkeeping & Reporting.

The clean monthly foundation so you know exactly what's going on in your business.

Monthly reconciliations

Bank accounts and credit cards reconciled every month so no transaction goes missing.

Chart of accounts design and cleanup

A cleaner structure so revenue, expenses, liabilities and owner activity are sorted based on your preferred visibility.

Accruals and prepaids

Timing adjustments for costs and earnings that belong to a different period, so we can see the real profits after related expenses.

AR/AP tracking

Invoices, bills and balances tracked in one place, so money owed and money due are clearly visible.

Margin and job-costing analysis

A closer look at which services, projects, clients or revenue streams are doing the heavy lifting.

Custom P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow reports

Monthly reporting shaped around how your business runs and what you need to know.

Year-end close

Books closed clean, with reconciliations and working papers containing the information you or your CPA need to file.

KPI dashboards

Regular, timely tracking and visualization of the metrics that matter for your business, with insights based on analysis.

Accounting software or template setup

Initial setup, account structure, workflows and practical cleanup inside the system you'll use.

§ 02
What we handle

Payroll & Payments.

Deadline-sensitive payroll, payment and filing work kept on a clear schedule.

Payroll processing

Weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly or custom cycles, with relevant approvals, recordkeeping and remittances.

Direct-deposit setup

Payment workflows set up so employees and contractors can be paid on schedule with the right approvals in place.

Accounts payable bill creation and payment runs

Approved vendor bills created, supported by three-way matching when needed, and prepared for timely bulk payments when you want them.

Accounts receivable invoicing and collection follow-up

Client invoices created and sent, with collection calls or follow-up as needed to support timely payments.

Cash flow management

Proactive management of inflows and outflows, with timely warnings when needed so working capital shortages do not sneak up on the business.

T4, T4A and ROE issuance

Annual slips and Records of Employment prepared and issued as needed.

GST/HST/PST filings

GST/HST and PST returns prepared from current books and filed under written authorization, with remittance amounts documented. Input Tax Credit (ITC) filings and PST refund applications prepared and submitted where applicable.

WorkSafeBC and EHT remittances

The payroll-side filings most owners forget about until a letter shows up. We stay on top of them all.

§ 03
What we handle

Operations & Admin.

The behind-the-scenes work that keeps the business actually running.

Hiring and onboarding admin

Offer paperwork, onboarding checklists, document collection and the administrative pieces around bringing people into the business.

Exit interviews and alumni contact point

We conduct exit interviews to surface honest feedback, then remain the go-between so former employees direct questions, references and concerns to us instead of you.

Contractor agreements and tracking

Contractor records, agreement status, payment details and renewal dates kept in one organized system.

Subscription and license management

A running record of every tool you pay for, renewal date, owner, cost and purpose so subscriptions do not quietly multiply.

Operations manuals

Clear internal manuals for recurring business processes, so the steps, owners and standards are easier to follow, delegate and improve.

Form fills and applications

Completing forms, registrations and applications on behalf of the company so the paperwork gets filed correctly the first time without taking up your time.

CRA and government correspondence

Handling letters, notices and follow-ups from CRA, WorkSafeBC and other government bodies so they don't pile up or get missed.

Ad hoc tasks

Flexible admin support for everything that doesn't fit a category — records, follow-ups, small fixes and the one-off requests that keep the back office moving.

§ 04
Quoted separately

Targeted cleanup for books, records or admin systems that are behind, inconsistent or too messy to rely on.

System and data migration

Moving you off the systems you have outgrown onto better ones, including bookkeeping platforms and any other software.

Focused one-time admin and operations projects, such as cleaning up records, building reporting templates, modernizing your website, integrating AI solutions and much more.

Service FAQ

Questions about scope.

Can I pick just bookkeeping without payroll?
Yes. Plan A is built for essential bookkeeping and reporting without payroll or broader operations support. If payroll becomes relevant later, the scope can move to Plan B or C. See the pricing page for the plan breakdown.
How do you handle catch-up before monthly work starts?
We assess the current state of the books first. If cleanup or catch-up is needed, it is quoted separately as a fixed-scope project before monthly service begins.
What software do you work in?
We primarily work in QuickBooks Online and Xero. Other tools can be considered where they make sense, but the goal is always a clean system that can be maintained every month.
How do filings and deadlines get tracked?
Recurring filing and remittance dates are kept in a compliance calendar, with responsibilities and reminders clearly documented so deadlines are not tracked from memory.
Do you replace my accountant?
No. We prepare the books, reports and working papers so your accountant can handle year-end tax filing efficiently. FRS does not file T1 personal or T2 corporate income tax returns.
